In order to get started, make sure you have downloaded the NuCalm mobile app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Your login details will be the same as the NuCalm account you created when you signed up. Please note that you can listen to all NuCalm journeys offline by simply downloading each journey to your mobile device.

NuCalm is as easy as finding a comfortable place, putting on your favorite headphones, an eye mask, and selecting your journey.
Rescue provides the deepest, most powerful recovery and relaxation. PowerNap provides recovery by using the physics of Rescue, but is only 20 minutes so you can squeeze it in when you are low on time. And FlowState provides deep relaxation while also opening your mind to creativity and inspiration.

Find a quiet place – e.g., bedroom, office, car, or even on a plane. Always use an eye mask and headphones or earbuds with the NuCalm mobile app. If you want to experience clinical strength, use the NuCalm biosignal processing disc during your journey.
Between wake up and 3 hours before bed, preferably in the afternoon.
Similar to caffeine, many people find they may be too energized to sleep at night after a late Rescue or PowerNap session. Make note of your sleep patterns after evening use to find your cut-off time. We typically recommend not using it within 3 hours of bedtime.
For optimal recovery and health, let your body tell you how long your NuCalm journey needs to be. The best way to achieve homeostasis (putting your mind and body back into balance) is to “wake up” or finish a NuCalm journey naturally.
The time needed in NuCalm is directly correlated to your current stress or fatigue level – the greater the stress or fatigue, the longer your NuCalm journey will be.
If you do not have time to go to your natural endpoint, we recommend a minimum 20 minute session to receive the recovery benefits of PowerNap.
Best Practices: DeepSleep
Listen to any 8-hour DeepSleep journey at bedtime through a speaker. This will help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and feel more rested in the morning.

To help with the onset of sleep at bedtime. To help fall back asleep in the middle of the night.
We recommend using any 8-hour DeepSleep journey. The DeepSleep journeys all use the same underlying patented physics algorithms and produce the same physiological result. Experiment with each 8-hour DeepSleep journey to find which journey you like best. Summer Rain is most popular.
If you continue having difficulty with the onset of sleep after two weeks using DeepSleep nightly, add a NuCalm biosignal processing disc and/or listen to DeepSleep with headphones or earbuds in bed.
Best Practices: Ignite
Listening to Ignite will inspire you, energize you, and make you feel unstoppable! Please ensure you use Rescue on a regular basis to balance out the power of Ignite.
Listen to Ignite with headphones for best results. You can loop Ignite a couple times (don’t overdo it). Stop listening to Ignite if you begin to feel agitated.

• Before a physical workout or competition
• When you need to focus mentally and perform at a high level in place of caffeine, energy drink, sugar drink, or stimulant

Get more done in less time. Focus is the perfect choice to enhance your concentration, comprehension, and clarity. For best results, use Focus with headphones.
Use Focus when you want your mind to be free of distractions and inspired to focus on the task at hand. Your mind will be decluttered, your concentration, clarity, and comprehension will be optimized, and you can listen to Focus for an hour at a time, take a 5 – 10 minute break, and listen to it again.
• Anytime between wake-up and 1 hour before bedtime
• Anytime you would like greater concentration or productivity
• Anytime you want to improve learning or comprehension
• When you need to reduce mental distractions, or during any activity that you want to maintain a high degree of focus and concentration
